From idea to reality
The Cheshire Wildlife Trust Nursery has been up and running since 2018. What started as a few like-minded colleagues growing wildflowers on their tea-breaks, has flourished into a professional nursery growing tens of thousands of plants every year.
Our nursery grows native tree and wildflower species, from hand harvested Cheshire seed, with a focus on strengthening local genetics and biodiversity. The nursery has become the engine room for much of our conservation work across the county, providing many of the plants for our meadow and woodland creation projects.
The nursery continues to grow in scale every year and is now in the position to sell to the public. Whether you're a landowner looking to boost diversity in your wildflower meadow, or an individual hoping to spruce up your garden with some wildlife friendly native flowers or a community group looking to plant trees in your local area, we would love to hear from you.
More than a nursery
At the Cheshire Wildlife Trust Nursery we grow more than just plants, we help people to grow too. The nursery has become a venue for the wide variety of engagement and education work the Cheshire Wildlife Trust undertakes. We host school trips, using the nursery as a tool to inspire and educate young people from across Cheshire.
Our weekly volunteer groups give adults of all ages and abilities the chance to get outdoors, make friends and learn new skills. The nursery is also wheelchair friendly, with accessible facilities, removing barriers to conservation volunteering that those with mobility issues might have faced in the past.
